The diabetes lifestyle change program is not just a weight loss program: it is a program to prevent type 2 diabetes. Achieving the weight loss goal (or even getting part way to the goal) produces a wide range of health benefits other than being able to fit again into a dress or pair of pants that have not fit in many years.
This program helps participants make lifestyle changes to reduce their risk for type 2 diabetes. As a Health Coach, I work with groups of participants to reduce their risk by:
- losing weight through healthy eating
- being more physically active
- learning to recognize and overcome barriers to healthy eating and physical activity.
